The Whole Guitar Fretboard
Stop guessing on guitar: find any note on any string, know what each open chord really plays, and work out where the capo goes for any key.

What it teaches
The guitar theory you need to stop guessing: standard tuning, finding any note on any string by counting frets, what each open chord shape actually plays (and why Em and E differ by one note), and capo maths (which chord a shape sounds with the capo on fret 3, and where the capo goes for a key). The AI asks 3 questions, places you, shows a short card per module, then gives you one question at a time and checks you against keys computed by script.
The tutor can’t hear you play. It teaches the notes and shapes, not technique.
How long
32 items. About 20-50 rounds plus a 12-item final (in a test run, a simulated beginner took 50 rounds and a simulated strong player 17): 1-2 sessions (estimate, not timed with a real student). The tutor gives a one-line save code at the end of each session.
The modules
4 modules, drilled one item at a time.

Before it teaches, it asks
- 1How long have you played, and what do you play now: open chords, barre chords, riffs, nothing yet?AI voice (ElevenLabs)
- 2Which note is at fret 5 on the low E string (string 6)?
- 3Shape x32010 (strings 6 to 1). Which notes sound, from low to high, and which chord is it?
What’s exact, and what isn’t
Show
Straight from the course’s own notes.
- Computed by script
- Every note, chord and capo answer by semitone arithmetic in standard tuning; every fretboard note checked a second way through absolute pitch numbers; every chord name is the only major/minor triad that fits its notes; all 8 open shapes in the bank checked to spell the chord they’re named for. A planted-error test (a mistuned string, a wrong capo answer, a wrong shape) was caught.
- Sourced
- Tuning, frets, capo, chord definitions and all 8 open shapes from Wikipedia and a second chord chart (miketyka.com), short quotes matched word for word on 2026-10-10.
- Not in it yet
- Barre chords, CAGED, scales, alternate tunings, seventh chords.
