What it teaches
The civics part of the US naturalization interview, from USCIS’s own list: the 128 questions of the 2025 version (for N-400 applications filed on or after October 20, 2025) with every answer USCIS lists, module by module: principles of government and rights, the system of government, American history, symbols and holidays. The test is oral, 20 questions, 12 right to pass; this course quizzes you the same way, brings back each drill miss a few rounds later, and ends with a 20-question practice test (10 questions on the 65/20 path). A 65/20 path drills the 16 starred questions whose answers don’t change (4 of the 20 starred ones are changing-answer questions, on uscis.gov/citizenship/testupdates), for applicants 65 and older with 20+ years as permanent residents.
Not legal advice and not the English test.
How long
126 items (120 civics questions + 6 on the test). Every question is shown at least once, so about 130-200 rounds with the repeats, plus a 20-question practice test: 5-8 sessions of ~30 rounds (estimate, not timed with a real student). The 65/20 path is about 25-35 rounds. The tutor gives a one-line save code at the end of each session.

Before it teaches, it asks
- 1When is your interview (roughly, or not scheduled yet)? Are you 65 or older with 20+ years as a permanent resident (the 65/20 rule)?
- 2What is the supreme law of the land?
- 3When was the Declaration of Independence adopted?
What’s exact, and what isn’t
Show
Straight from the course’s own notes.
- Word for word from USCIS
- Every question and answer comes from USCIS’s “128 Civics Questions and Answers (2025 version)” (M-1778, 09/25). The PDF’s text was taken out two independent ways (Apple’s PDFKit and a separate reader); a script requires them to agree on every question, answer and star, and records the 7 places they differ and which one is right (each checked by hand). The test facts (20 questions, 12 to pass, 9 wrong fails, who takes it) are quoted from USCIS’s 2025 Civics Test page.
- Grading is by USCIS's list
- Words in parentheses are optional (this course’s reading: the USCIS PDF does not explain its parentheses). USCIS says there may be other correct answers but encourages the listed ones; this course drills the list.
- Not drilled (8)
- The questions whose answers depend on your state or on who holds office (your senators, representative, governor and state capital; the President, Vice President, Speaker and Chief Justice). USCIS posts the current names at uscis.gov/citizenship/testupdates; the course points you there.
- Honest limits
- Practice only. Not legal advice, not affiliated with USCIS, and passing practice tests is not passing the interview.
- Not in it yet
- The 8 changing-answer questions, the English reading and writing test, the 2008 version of the test.
