What it teaches

How to read a Jacks or Better pay table (what 9/6 means, why 9/5 and 8/5 pay less), how to name every paying hand, how to count a draw out of the 47 unseen cards, how to work out the average return of a hold, and the best hold on 12 common deals (a paying pair, 4 to a royal, a dealt flush with 4 to a royal inside it, a low pair against high cards, straight draws). The AI asks 3 questions, places you, shows a short card per module, then gives you one problem at a time and checks your answer against the answer key (every number in it computed by script).

No systems, no tips. It never says what to bet or which machine to play. Best play only gets you the pay table’s payback.

This is maths for adults where betting is legal. The house edge means most players lose over time, and this course will show you why.

Before it teaches, it asks

  1. 1
What brings you here: a casino trip coming up, you already play, or curiosity?
  2. 2
What is 10♠ 10♦ 7♣ 4♥ 2♠ on a 9/6 Jacks or Better machine, and what does it pay per coin?
  3. 3
You hold K♠ 9♠ 6♠ 2♠ and throw away 7♦. What is the chance the new card makes a flush? Give a fraction or a percent.

What’s exact, and what isn’t

Straight from the course’s own notes.

Computed by script
The hand evaluator first reproduces Wikipedia’s count for every five-card hand type over all 2,598,960 hands; then every M3 deal is solved by trying all 32 holds against every possible draw from the 47 unseen cards (exact fractions, no simulation). Every key was also written by hand first and had to match; the script caught one wrong hand-written key before release.
Sourced
The 9/6 pay table and the paybacks (99.54%, 98.45%, 97.30%) from Wikipedia’s Video poker article; hand rules from List of poker hands; short quotes matched word for word on 2026-10-10. Helpline numbers from the NCPG and NHS pages, read 2026-10-10.
Pay tables vary by machine
The course uses full-pay 9/6; a machine’s posted pay table wins.
